Hi, I’m Marisa, but the cooks in the kitchen call me “Mari.” So far, I’ve been on a wild ride trying to figure out my place and purpose. I went from wanting to be a forensic scientist to graduating with film and chemistry degrees to cooking in a kitchen. Luckily, I met a lot of crazy fun people along the way and always made sure to keep on learning.
I first published my food blog on instagram during the pandemic shut down and later developed it into a website. I love sharing cooking tips and recipes I learned through work or research with my friends and others teaching themselves how to cook. I am a firm believer that anyone who is willing can learn to cook. It’s fun to experiment.
I recently started writing about my experiences cooking in the small packed kitchen of a fine dining restaurant along with some stories from managing a cafe. I am happy to share these stories with all of you with A Little Bit of Everything. Thank you for reading.

What is “From the Trenches?”
My overall newsletter is titled “A Little Bit of Everything,” because I hope to develop it and write about more than just kitchen life. That’s why this publication will be written in a series format. “From the Trenches” is my first season focused on kitchen life and my experiences in the restaurant industry.
